New biogas plant in Haridwar by 2021

As reported by The Daily Pioneer, a new biogas plant running on solid waste and manure has been proposed in the city of Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The Municipal Corporation of Haridwar and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) have recently held a meeting for the project, which is expected to be operational before the Maha Kumbh Mela of 2021. The source does not comment on the plant’s technology or its capacity. 260 tonnes of solid waste is being generated in Haridwar everyday.
