The Uttar Pradesh state government has reportedly received 38 proposals expressing interest to invest in bioenergy projects. As further stated, a total of INR 5 billion (EUR 59.06 million) is supposed to be invested into projects for CBG, bio-coal and biodiesel.
15 projects, of which land is already available, are planned to start ‘very soon’, according to the source. The bioenergy plants should be set up in districts such as Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Saharanpur, Sitapur, Bareilly, Prayagraj, Barabanki, Chandauli, and Sambhal. The Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has received 34 projects for CBG, three for biodiesel and one for pellets.
