Projects

As per the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, India generates 62 million tonnes of solid waste each year. About 43 million tonnes (70%) is collected, of which about 12 million tonnes of waste is treated in various facilities across the country.

The map below identifies various waste treatment and disposal related projects operational across India. These projects have been categorized into five types, namely anaerobic digestion or biological treatment units, composting plants, landfills, material recycling facilities and thermal treatment plants.
