The Punjab government has been ordered by India’s National Green Tribunal (NGT) to support the operator of the Bathinda WtE project in order to expand the RDF facility by another WtE unit. Moreover, the NGT has issued a laboratory examination of the RDF produced at the site in order to secure the quality of the fuel and to analyse its caloric value. According to The Times of India, the new unit for the Bathinda plant should use modern technology but it has not yet been revealed which type of technology in particular.
