Ahmedabad WtE plant to be ready by year-end

An 11 MW Waste-to-Energy plant being built by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) at Pirana will be operational by the end of the year.

The AMC has entered power purchase agreements with two companies that will convert domestic garbage into energy. The AMC stated that the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) has approved a rate of Rs 7.03 per unit for one company and Rs 7.07 per unit for the other.

The Times of India reports that the plant will turn 1,000 tonnes of waste to energy every day.
