After there has been no progress on the contracts on proposed WtE plants in India, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), a civic body of the Greater Bangalore metropolitan area, now considers to integrate WtE plants at its compost plants in seven villages around Bengaluru. The BBMP had already signed contracts with Satarem Enterprises Private Ltd and Nexus Novus in the past, however, the projects could not be implemented yet due to local protests. The BBMP will now request tenders within a month in order to push the projects forward, according to the New Indian Express. If successfully implemented, the plants could then generate between 8 MW and 16 MW.
