Bhubaneshwar to add more than a dozen MRFs

Bhubaneshwar is planning to establish 14 Material Recovery Facility (MRF) centres. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has a target of total 41 MCCs and 10 MRFs.

Currently, four MRFs are fully functional, civil construction of eight are over and rest are in process.

Five Swachha Karmis from rag pickers’ group are engaged in each MRF. Total 24 MRFs planned will fulfill the need of 67 wards whereas 10 numbers will be in North Zone and 7 each will function in South East and South West Zone respectively. The capacity of each is 10 ton per day, reports OmmComm News.
