Bhubaneswar civic body to set up C&D plant

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has announced that it will build a facility to treat 100 tonnes of construction and demolition (C&D) waste each day.

The civic body has issued a tender to select a company that will set up the plant, manage, and maintain it. A decision is expected to be made by the end of February. The waste processing plant would probably be put into operation within the next three months.

The BMC has reportedly designated two locations in Patia and another close to Kargil Basti near the airport for the disposal of these wastes. The city council intends to designate another location in Ward 13 for the disposal of C&D waste, reports The Times of India.
