Bhutal Kalan CBG plant commissioned

The Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant in the village of Bhutal Kalan in Sangrur district, Punjab, has now started commercial CGB production. The plant producing 33.23 tpd was commissioned in April 2022.

As per earlier information, the plant constructed by Verbio India Private Limited has a capacity of 150,000 tpy of paddy residue. According to the current report, further 42 CBG plants have been allocated by the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) with a combined capacity of 492.58 tpd of paddy straw and other agricultural residue.

According to a PEDA official, two additional plants with a combined capacity of 14.25 tpd of CBG are expected to start in 2022-23 and be commissioned within the upcoming three years.
