Biogas plant to open in Madhya Pradesh

A biomethanation plant is to open soon in Madhya Pradesh. It will mainly convert biodegradable municipal solid waste into biogas, which will then be used to generate electricity for powering street lights at Bittan Market. After a successful trial run, the plant will be fully operational within 2 weeks, as further stated by The Times of India. The facility will have a processing capacity of 5 tpd. Construction began in 2015 and entailed an investment of about EUR 276,472 (RS 2 crore). The project was launched by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC).
