Biogas project at farmer’s market in Coimbatore

According to The Times of India, a new biogas plant using biodegradable waste is being planned in the city of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The project worth EUR 3.5 million will be located at R S Puram farmer’s market (uzhavar santhai). Plant developers are the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation along with ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, an international organisation of local governments and national and regional local government organisations. The project is being funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
