Brahmapuram WtE project delayed

The Brahmapuram WtE project is facing another delay by at least one year, due to delay in obtaining necessary clearances from various state departments, as The New Indian Express reports. The BOT contract for the 330 tpd WtE facility was awarded to GL Nature Care Consortium in December 2015, and the foundation stone was laid in the beginning of 2018. Initially, the WtE plant was expected to commence operations in 2018, however, construction of the INR 295 crores project is now expected to begin by December 2018. The plant will start processing waste by October 2019, with power generation to start by the first half of 2020.
