Editor The Hindu reported, that Kochi Municipal Corporation has postponed its decision to lease 20 acres of land in Brahmapuram to GJ Eco Power Private Ltd. (GJ Eco). GJ Eco was entrusted with the construction of the Brahmapuram WtE plant using a public-private partnership mode. The postponement is because GJ Eco recently demanded converting the concessional agreement into a lease agreement. According to GJ Eco, banks would not provide loans for setting up the plant if it was a concessional agreement.
