British firm to invest in South Indian WtE projects

As was stated by The Economic Times, British company Biomass Power Ltd. plans to invest in several new WtE projects in the Indian states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Biomass Power Ltd. is a business partner of Indian firm GJ Nature Care & Energy, which is reportedly going to carry out the WtE project in Kochi. The Kochi plant is set to have a power generation capacity of 10 MW and an intake capacity of 96,000 tpy of waste. The facility will be built as a PPP project. Biomass Power might also be involved in the Chennai WtE project and is currently discussing new WtE options with the municipal corporations of Madurai and Coimbatore.
