C&D recycling facility in Vijayawada not yet operational

In December 2017, the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and Bengaluru-based VVD Constructions signed an agreement to build a construction and demolition (C&D) plant in Vijayawada. However, according to the New Indian Express, the construction works, which were supposed to start within 3 months after the agreement was signed, have not started yet. As between 50 and 70 tpd of C&D waste is being generated in the city, it needs a C&D recycling plant to process the waste.
