Chandigarh accepted recommendations for MSW plant

The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh has accepted recommendations to convert dry waste into RDF and wet waste into biomethane and compressed natural gas at its proposed 600 tpd integrated waste management facility.

Tender to be launched in March

The recommendations were made by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research of the National Environment Engineering Research Institution. As further stated, a tender for the construction and operation of the plant under a public-private partnership is to be launched in March 2023.

25 years operation contract

The construction is scheduled to take 2 years and the contract will include another 25 years of operation. The plant is to be set up on the Dadumajra landfill and is planned to also include an MRF.
