Chandigarh CBG plant to be commissioned in January

The compressed biogas plant in the Sangrur district of Chandigarh, Punjab, is set to be commissioned in January 2022, according to a Times Now report.

The plant should process paddy straw stubble to produce 33 tpd of CBG. Feedstock collection for the project, organised by the municipality, is underway. 10,000 tons of straw have already been collected. The municipality aims to collect another 20,000 tons before commissioning. Investment costs for the plant amount to INR 2.2 billion (EUR 26.11 million).
