Chandigarh hikes waste collection fee

The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has increased waste collection fees by 5%, which would be reflected in water bills from April onwards.

Water rates had been raised in March 2019 when the MC had taken over waste collection from private agencies. It introduced 399 garbage collection vehicles to collect dry and wet waste, reports The Indian Express.
