Chandigarh will soon be getting its first plastic waste recycling plant. The civic body is examining two plant designs. One under which the MC will only give land to a company that will build the plant and profit from the sale of its by-product.

In another scenario, the MC and the agency will work together equally on all fronts. The location of the plant is yet to be determined. It might be located near the existing processing plant

Chandigarh Commissioner Anindita Mitra and the Chief Engineer paid a visit to a Surat-based plastic waste management plant, as well as another one in Ahmedabad, reports The Tribune.
