Nearly 644 tonnes of green waste was collected from Chennai after Cyclone Mandous. The waste will be delivered to processing facilities for recycling and other uses.

Cyclone Mandous made landfall close to Chennai on Friday night. Many trees were uprooted by the high winds. Ever since then, Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) sanitation staff have been removing the green waste along with the staff of private waste concessionaire, Urbaser Sumeet.

The tree waste is being processed at two facilities in PDG and KDG, reports India Today.
