CII’s Waste to Worth Conference: All eyes on India’s first major virtual exhibition in waste sector

It’s the first major virtual exhibition in the Indian waste sector since the pandemic began. The Confederation of India Industry (CII), in association with the Technology Development Board, Government of India, and supported by Swachh Bharat Mission, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affair, (MoHUA) is organizing an International Conference on Waste to Worth on October 30.

As reported earlier on SolidWasteIndia.com, the day-long conference will have a host of high-profile speakers from the waste sector and will be followed by a 15-day virtual exhibition till November 15, 2020.

Preparations are on in full swing for the fortnight-long exhibition which will showcase some of the latest technological and innovative solutions in the waste management sector. Since it’s the virtual realm, there’s plenty of opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their brand in a way that can create maximum impact.

Exhibitors will have the opportunity to invite their own present and future customers to visit the virtual exhibition and access visitor data analytics 24/7. Online updates on who is visiting the exhibitor’s booth and dropped their business card will be provided. There will also be a facility to connect with visitors 24/7 via video call or online chat. There is also a facility to recommend connections as part of the exhibition.

There are no restrictions on the number of visitors checking out exhibits during the event. While there is no defined “size” for a booth, exhibitors can purchase two of these to showcase more information. Exhibitors opting for a single stand can place two representatives who will be provided with chat systems including SMS, email and video chat facilities. The exhibitors will be solely responsible for managing the incoming flow of enquiries and initiate a dialogue with visitors.

Says exhibitor Sandip Singh, CEO – Ishitva Robotic Systems who will be putting up a virtual booth at the event, “We’ve previously participated in virtual exhibitions at international events and it’s been an incredible experience. While there are limitations in terms of interpersonal interactions with visitors, the event generated many business leads for us. The onus is on exhibitors to create and share high-quality, engaging visual content to attract visitors in a virtual environment.”

A similar sentiment is echoed by Tony Thomas, Marketing, Branding and Communications Lead at Mailhem Ikos, “Since virtual exhibitions are a relatively new phenomenon in India, creating innovative visual content with high production values is a challenge for a lot of exhibitors. It is time-consuming and requires the support of a dedicated team from the organizer’s end to put up a truly world-class event.”

With a host of high-profile visitors expected to attend the CII exhibition, it’s a race against time for many exhibitors who want to promote their brand as innovatively as they can. Watch this space for the latest buzz on the much-awaited CII Waste to Worth conference and exhibition.
