India-based infrastructure companies VishnuSurya Projects and Infra Limited (VSIL) have announced several MoUs with Hitachi Zosen India Private Limited and waste managing company AG Enviro Infra Projects Private Limited.
The partnership’s first proposal is for Greater Chennai Corporation’s phase 1 plan of an Integrated Waste processing project, expected to cost INR 12.6 billion (EUR 139.8 million), with a 20-year O&M agreement. Greater Chennai Corporation plans to implement this project through a DBFOT (Design Build Finance Operate & Transfer) model in PPP mode.
Funding should come entirely from the private sector. The source does not comment on the exact technology to be implemented.
