Conference finds strong WtE potential in India

At a recent WtE conference in New Delhi, Indian government officials have strongly emphasised the nation’s WtE potential. It was said that up to 6 GW could potentially be generated through WtE in the country. As further reported by Waste Management World, India’s government announced a WtE generation target of 700 MW to be reached until 2019. However, it was not said if organic waste processes are included in the figures or not. Last year, new solid waste management rules have been drafted, aiming to facilitate developments of solid waste processing plants.
