Construction of Brahmapuram project to begin in May

The start of construction of the discussed WtE plant in Brahmapuram, Kerala, is scheduled for the end of May 2017. As reported, Kochi Corporation has signed an agreement with GJ Eco Power Pvt Ltd for the construction and operation of the plant. The company should set up the facility at a cost of approximately EUR 40 million and the plant should be able to treat 300 tpd. Previously, the project has been controversial due to environmental issues as well as problems regarding the tariff for purchasing its power. This has been reported by the Times of India.
