According to local government officials, a contractor has finally been found for the implementation of a WtE project in Mavallipura, located close to the city Bengaluru. Indian company Essel Group will operate the planned facility, which is expected to have an intake capacity of 500 tpd of waste. The local administrative body of the region, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), is in support of the project and even considers to set up a few more small-scale incinerators (50 tpd to 100 tpd of waste intake capacity) in the area. This was reported by the Deccan Herald.
