Cyclone Tauktae leaves piles of garbage on Mumbai beaches

Following Cyclone Tauktae earlier this week, heaps of garbage have been reported on the beaches of Mumbai. Some reports suggest that civic body workers removed garbage weighing 62,010 kg from a total of seven beaches in Mumbai.

Times Now reports that beaches in Dadar area of central Mumbai had the maximum amount of waste, as compared to beaches in Juhu.

Cyclone Tauktae hit Mumbai on May 14 before making landfall in Gujarat. It is among the most powerful tropical cyclonic storms to hit the west coast of India.
