Deonar WtE project tender process underway

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced to have started the tender process for its 3,000 tpd Deonar WtE plant. As said, the project should be realised under a DBC (Design, Build and Commissioning) scheme with a contract period of 20 years. According to The Indian Express, construction of the 25 MW plant is projected to take around 3 years. BMC expects many foreign companies to participate in the bidding process. Originally, tender documents were planned to be published in August, following pre-invitation meetings held in June. However, the lack of standardised WtE project bidding documents in India caused delays.
