East Delhi’s first bio-methanation plant begins trial run

The East Delhi Municipal Corporation has initiated a trial run of its first bio-methanation plant at Geeta Colony. Spread over 600 sq metres, the plant will consume 5000 kg of wet waste daily to generate 250-300 units of electricity and 750 kg of compost, reports The Times of India.

The civic agency will inaugurate the plant in the first week of December. It aims to establish another 5-tonne plant at Shastri Park and 10-tonne facility at Yamuna Vihar.
