Nagpur is currently facing challenges in garbage collection as new contractors take charge
The Times of India reports that the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has threatened to terminate the WtE project contract with Essel Infraprojects Private Ltd. and Hitachi Zosen India Private Ltd. due to the delay in construction works. According to NMC, construction works have not commenced yet. The project is scheduled to be completed by January 2020, and the plant is expected to process up to 800 tonnes of waste daily and have a capacity of 11.5 MW. As ecoprog reported, Essel is facing financial difficulties, which may be the reason for the delay.
