Final hearing in legal battle over Okhla WtE plant

India’s National Green Tribunal (NGT) has held the final hearing in the lawsuit against the Okhla WtE facility. However, it has reserved a final verdict so far, according to The Hindu. Local residents have claimed that the facility was built on green belt land without a valid approval and that it continuously breached environmental standards. In December 2016, NGT temporarily upheld the plant’s operational permit after it was found to meet legal requirements.
