Fire at Pune’s Dalvinagar waste facility

Waste processing work undertaken by the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) will be partially affected over the next few days following a major fire at its new 200 metric tonne capacity plant at Dalvinagar in Ambegaon Pathar on Sunday afternoon. 
The blaze extensively damaged the expensive equipment but no injuries were reported at the site. 

The plant had started functioning about a month ago and processes mixed garbage generated from Sinhagad road, Ambegaon, Dattanagar, Katraj and surrounding areas. 

The city fire brigade deployed firefighting tenders and water tankers to control the blaze. It took almost three hours to put off the flames, reports The Times of India.
