As was reported by The Hindu, the State Electricity Regulatory Commission of the state of Kerala is still waiting for the a statement and price proposal by the Corporation of the municipality of Kochi. The statement regard the prices for electricity that will be generated at the planned Brahmapuram WtE plant. Since the power tarriff desired by Kochi Corporation is higher than the purchase rate of the local body Kerala State Electricity Board, it has to be approved by the Commission first. Nevertheless, Kochi Cooperation failed to respond to the Commission’s formal demand for a few months now.
