Goa authorities tackle ‘legacy waste’ at Mormugao

Local civic body authorities inspected Mormugao Solid Waste Treatment Plant (MSWTP) at Headland-Sada in order to expedite the process of clearing almost 80 metric tonnes of ‘legacy waste’ which has been lying there for the last several years.

Navhind Times reports that a tender has been awarded for clearing the waste and the officials are now concentrating on expediting the garbage clearing process.

The Goa Waste Management Corporation will eventually utilise the space for setting up an advanced garbage treatment plant.
