Goa State announces biogas incentives

The Goa State Government has announced in its budget speech for 2021-2022 to provide financial incentives to support cattle, pig and poultry farmers in setting up biogas plants to process manure, as reported by The Times of India.

The produced biogas should then be supplied to nearby houses and commercial institutions. The scheme will be implemented through the Department of New & Renewable Energy (DNRE), while the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) will be responsible for delivering the produced gas to consumers, as per the source.
