Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said that a tender will be floated within 10 days for the construction of 250 tonne per day (TPD) solid waste treatment plant at Bainguinim.
The Rs-200 crore plant will be based on build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) delivery method, reports The Times of India. “The entire amount has to be spent by the bidder and they have to treat 250 TPD wet waste at the plant. Bidders also have to bale the dry waste and send it outside the state for disposal till Goa sets up its own waste energy plant,” the CM has reportedly said.
There were reports that citizens have approached the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to challenge the environment clearance to the plant but the government will go ahead with the tendering process.
