Greater Noida to have more than a dozen new MRF centres

Over a dozen Material Recovery Facility (MRF) centres will be set up in Greater Noida to manage waste by separating recyclable items from the dump for further use.

The Times of India reports that only non-biodegradable waste will be left at the facility while the remaining material will be sent for recycling or treatment. The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) will handle the processing and disposal of non-biodegradable waste.

As the population of the Greater Noida area grows rapidly, local authorities are announcing a slew of measures to maintain cleanliness and manage waste. Almost 280 to 300 metric tonnes of waste gets generated in Greater Noida daily.
