Guntur WtE plant to be inaugurated next month

The much-delayed Waste to Energy plant in Guntur will be ready for operations next month, the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, Mr Botcha Satyanarayana has announced. The plant is being built by Jindal ITF Urban Infrastructure Limited (JUIL). The plant will be inaugurated by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as part of “Clean Andhra Pradesh” initiative to be launched in July.

Waste from Guntur, Vijayawada and nine municipalities including Mangalagiri, Tadepalli, Tenali, Chilakaluripet, Sattenapalli, Narsaraopet and Piduguralla will be utilised for power generation at the plant. The State government will purchase the electricity produced for Rs 6.12 paise, reports The New Indian Express.
