Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is expected to inaugurate the much-delayed Guntur Waste to Energy (WtE) plant operated by the Jindal group on June 5.

The plant will generate about 15 MW of electricity by consuming nearly 1200 tonnes of waste each day from Guntur, Krishna, and eight other municipal bodies. Certain municipalities have reported a shortage of vehicles to transport the waste, which is being addressed by local authorities.

The Swach Andhra Corporation is sponsoring the vehicles while the municipalities will bear the cost of fuel for waste transportation. The Jindal-owned plant is undergoing trials, reports The Times of India.
