The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) has approved power purchase agreements (PPA) for four paddy straw-fuelled biomass projects with a total capacity of 49.8 MW, as Mercom India reported. The PPAs were signed by the Haryana Power Purchase Center (HPPC) with local companies Hind Samachar Ltd. for 15 MW in Kurukshetra, Jind Bio-Energy LLP for 9.9 MW in Jind, Sukhbir Agro Energy Ltd for 15 MW in Kaithal, and Fatehabad Bio-Energy (LLP) for 9.9 MW in Fatehabad. The tariffs have been fixed at INR 7.27/kWh for the Kurukshetra project and INR 7.29/kWh for the other projects.
