Hyderabad has a new Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste Recycling Plant at Fathullaguda. The facility is equipped to recycle 500 metric tonnes of debris a day.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao inaugurated the new facility on Friday. According to the GHMC officials, nearly 2,000 metric tonnes of C&D waste is generated in the city every day. Hyderabad already has a C&D plant at Jeedimetla that recycles 500 metric tonnes of waste a day since November 2020.
Both the plants are set up in association with Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited. An amount of Rs 342 per metric tonne will be charged as tipping fee and if the waste is transported directly to the plant, Rs 85.50 per metric tonne will be charged.
