According to an official from the Municipal Administration and Urban Development, there is a possibility of commissioning the 19.8 MW Hyderabad WtE plant by December 2019, as construction works are progressing well at the facility. This was reported by United News of India. According to an earlier report by ecoprog, two Japanese firms, Takara Leben and Kuni Umi have invested in the plant.
