Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tame Phassang has said that the lack of a solid waste management plant is causing the IMC major problems with waste disposal. The Imphal Capital Region (ICR) produces at least 60 MT of waste per day.

The building of the SWMP is the IMC’s top priority and “excellent construction” in every stage of the project is essential, said Mr Phassang, reports Arunachal Times.

In March 2021, a new waste to energy (WTE) plant had been inaugurated in Imphal, as reported on solidwasteindia.com
