IOC and NDMC sign MoU for new WtE plant in North Delhi

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to set up an integrated Waste To Energy (WtE) plant in outer Delhi.

As part of the MoU, IndianOil shall facilitate NDMC for identification of a concessionaire for setting up of an Integrated WtE Plant at Ranikhera in Narela. The plant would process Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and organic waste of NDMC for producing Compressed Biogas (CBG), recycling plastics, Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) for producing plastic or syngas and its downstream products.

The integrated plant will process approximately 2500 MT of municipal solid waste collected by NDMC from City-Sadar Paharganj, Karol Bagh, and Narela zones, which is currently being dumped at the Bhalswa landfill site.
