IPCA launches Centre for Waste Management and Research in partnership with TERI

The Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) and TERI School of Advanced Studies have joined hands to establish IPCA Centre for Waste Management and Research (ICWMR) which was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Prashant Gargava, Member Secretary, Central Pollution Control Board on December 20th, 2022 at TERI SAS.

The IPCA Centre for Waste Management and Research is a think tank in the field of waste management, environment and sustainable development. The Centre will undertake evidence-based research, develop technology, promote innovations, conduct capacity-building programmes, and contribute to a sustainable waste supply chain. It will publish insights by eliciting inputs through organizing working group sessions, and conferences and collaborating with national and international institutes, and also enrol research scholars for their PhD Degrees.

Says Mr Ashish Jain, Founder-Director – IPCA, “Waste management interventions and policy-making are currently so haphazard. Data is either unavailable or unreliable and we will fix that. Going one step further, we will translate this data into action. We have worked at the grassroots level for many years, while TERI is India’s leading name in environment and sustainability research. This is why we decided to collaborate and bring data-driven solutions to solve the waste management issues plaguing our country. The IPCA Centre is already working in full swing for a year. It has a dedicated team for research and skill development. We have already conducted two training programs related to entrepreneurship.”
