J&K govt approves Achan WtE project PPA

Work on the 5 MW Srinagar City WtE project is likely to start once a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has been sent to the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC), following a green signal from the Jammu & Kashmir government. It is unclear when this is expected to happen though the government has urged the concerned department to act soon on the matter, reports GreaterKashmir.com.

The 160,000 tpd plant, projected to be built in Achan (Achan Saidpora), was originally meant to be constructed within 18 months from December 2017 onwards. The PPP project between the consortium of Highland Automobiles Private Limited, Key Stone Energy Limited and Astrix shall cost INR 1.2 billion (EUR 13.6 million).
