Jhiri biogas plant now under construction

The CBG plant in Jhiri, located near Ranchi, Jharkhand State, is currently under construction and is slated for completion in November or December 2022, according to The Telegraph.

In March 2021, Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) and Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) have signed an MoU on the project. It should process 150 tpd of organic municipal solid waste and produce 5 tpd of CBG. GAIL intends to invest INR 281.9 million (EUR 3.27 million).

As confirmed in the current source, another plant is to be set up in Jhiri. RMC has already provided GAIL with 8 acres of land for the project.
