Kalaburagi cement producers stop using RDF

A group of cement producers in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, have stopped using RDF from Bengaluru because of the high transportation costs, as Global Chemfuels reported. Although the cement producers do not pay for the RDF, they stated that it costs more than coal once transportation costs are taken into account. However, the administrative council of the city, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palik (BBMP), stated that RDF will be supplied in compressed bales to reduce logistics costs henceforth.
