UP’s Dhuriapur biogas plant to be ready in December

A new biogas plant, currently under construction in Dhuriapur, Uttar Pradesh, is expected to be ready in December 2022 and will start operations in March 2023. The plant, being built by IOCL, is expected to have a capacity to treat 230 tonnes of waste and produce 28 tpd of CBG. It is being speculated that the plant will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

IOCL is investing INR 1.6 billion (EUR 20.04 million) into the plant. It will process grass, dairy products, and spoiled vegetable and fruit crops to produce the CBG. According to Amarujala, similar plants are being set up in Kannauj and Muzaffarnagar.
