The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) will install 50 e-waste collection bins in Bengaluru, including the Vidhana Soudha and the High Court. In addition, one hundred bins will be installed in other parts of the state.
According to the KSPCB’s estimates, the state generated 1,00,250 metric tonne of e-waste in 2020-2021, with just 40% reaching the recycling and refurbishment facilities.
Only 86 of the 150 dismantlers, refurbishing, and recycling units that have been licensed by the board are currently active, reports The Indian Express.
