Six acres of land have been cleared for the construction of a WtE plant expansion at the Bandhwari landfill site, according to a report by Hindustan Times.

The remaining four acres are due to be cleared in November 2021. According to the source, construction works are expected to begin soon. Clearing efforts accelerated after the National Green Tribunal threatened to sanction the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram if it did not clear legacy waste at the site. The proposed expansion should increase the plant’s electricity production by 10 MWe to 25 MWe.
